Roots issue solved
Posted in HLF on 06/23/2008 05:00 pm by hfurbyI’ve decided to post in red today – mostly because there are so many fires around here and frankly, the smoke makes my eyes red. So, red it is.
I just wanted to calm the masses, since I know it was quite a shock to find that the marriage would not be legal while I had ROOTS SHOWING. However, a small clause was apparently written in to the gay marriage supreme court ruling. The community would have nothing to do with the Root-Showing illegality – so HEY, we’re legal!
Ah, I make fun of a touchy subject and now this has turned into a political wedding! Just so it’s clear – I SUPPORT MARRIAGE of ALL KINDS! why? because…it just strengthens my own marriage to know that many of my friends can now share in the costs of these ridiculous wedding industry charges! No, seriously, I think it does strengthen my own vows because somehow they seem more…honest? Truthful? That I choose to be witnessed by another and now everyone can make that same choice. I guess that’s more of a spiritual reason, rather than legal, but right now I can’t seem to separate them.
However, I am a bit upset because my “2 gay guys” friends who have been waiting to get married for 15 years and have two male salaries…OH MY GOD! Can they throw a party that drowns any bridezilla qualities I may possess! And, the cost of weddings just hit an all time high! Pour the champagne, darling, cuz we are CELEBRATING!
Actually, I’m just writing all this to justify why all of you will be eating on BBQ potato salad on paper plates. Gotta blame it on someone.
Okay, I’m done with this thought…onward to watch the skies turn dark with smoke! BRILLIANT through my red scratchy eyes!
